Free Crochet Pattern for Baby Boots – Baby Ugg

This is a free crochet pattern for baby boots that are inspired by baby ugg.

These crochet baby boots are worked in spiral rounds without joining. They start at the sole and are worked up to the cuff. Ties are added by surface crocheting around the ankle.

Sizes: Small (Large) to fit 2-6 month (6-12 month).

MATERIALS

Yarn: Super Bulky Weight

Shown in Loops & Threads Cozy Wool (50% wool, 50% acrylic; 90 yds [82 m]/4.5 oz [127 g]).

Hook: Use hook necessary to achieve correct gauge. Sample was made using US size J/10 (6.0 mm).

Notions: Yarn needle.

Gauge: 7 sts and 5 rows = 2.5″ in hdc. Different gauge will result in a different size of the finished object and will affect amount of yarn used.

Note: Those boots is meant to be worked at a tight gauge. J/10 (6.0 mm) hook is a fairly small size for the super bulky weight yarn, which will help to create a tight gauge.

Stitches used: Ch – chain, hdc – half double crochet, sc – single crochet, hdc2tog – half double crochet next two stitches together.

Sole

Ch 9.

Size small only:

RND 1: Sc in 2^nd ch from hook and next 3 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, 5 hdc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, hdc in next 3 chs, sc in next 4 chs, 3 sc in next ch (1^st skipped ch) – 22 sts.

RND 2: Sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts – 29 sts.

Size large only:

RND 1: Sc in 2^nd ch from hook and each ch across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each ch across to 1^st skipped ch, sc in 1^st ch – 20 sts.

RND 2: Sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts – 27 sts.

RND 3: Sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 5 sts, (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st) 5 times, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) twice – 34 sts.

Shoe

RND 1: BPhdc in each st around.

RND 2: Hdc in next 6 (7) sts, (hdc2tog, hdc in next st) 5 times, hdc in remaining sts – 24 (29) sts.

RND 3: Hdc in next 4 (6) sts, (hdc2tog, hdc in next st) 5 times, hdc in remaining sts – 19 (24) sts.

Size large only: RND 4: Hdc in next 6 sts (hdc2tog, hdc in next st) 4 times, hdc in remaining sts – 20 sts.

Next 3 (4) RNDs: Hdc in each st around.

Sc in next st, sl st in next st.
