I remember when we were cramping up on finishing holiday gifts last year (3 days before the party), someone mentioned that it might be a good idea to start gift making earlier than November, maybe even in July.
Guess what… It is July! I checked! My fancy brand new phone says – July! Time to start making, or at least planning what to make for the loved once (and for not-that-much-loved,-but-have-to-make-something-for-them-anyway).
I am hoping to start soon. So let’s brainstorm on what we are going to start making. I need to start writing more patterns, right? What would you like to make, share with me.
To help creative juices flowing here is a list of last year populars:
1. Hats. The most popular were hats with brims, embellished with different flowers and butterfly.
2. Socks. Cute crochet socks for adults in stretchy sock yarn. I really enjoyed making them, but it was a bit of a lengthly process.
3. Bags and purses. They were great presents for both adults ans kids.
4. Toys, stuffed animals. I did just few for Maksim’s niece.
5. Mittens. The pattern was written a bit late in a season, so we were not able to make a lot of them. Would you be interested in making them again?
Personally, I would like to make more toys, small creatures to maybe put on key chains or for tree ornaments. Neck warmers and fingerless mittens/gloves were very popular in crochet/knit community. Would you want to learn how to make them. What do you think? What would you like to make? Or what would you like to receive as a gift.
