New Class – Family Crochet

In celebrations of International Crochet Day

Announcing a new crochet class – Family Crochet!

This class is for moms, aunts and grandmas who would like to learn to crochet together with their kids, nephews, nieces or grandkids.   Learning together in small groups of kids encourages social interactions between children and improves relationships between the children and the adult.  A family that crochets together stays together ;), if I may rephrase it.

No previous crochet experience is required!

You will both learn basics of crocheting while creating a wide variety of projects.  Kids can pick and choose between several projects:  bracelets, hair scrunchies, little dolls and creatures, cases for cell phones or ipods. They might be able to complete several projects.  Adults can start making something easy like cell phone cases, or gift/business card cozies, and learn to make hats and scarves.  If you have some experience crocheting, you can work on any project of your choice that you might need help with.  Just let me know ahead of time, so I can prepare to accommodate you better.

Learning to crochet is a significant milestone in children’s lives.  It helps children to express their individuality, builds character, enhances self-esteem and confidence, improves their attention span, and prepares them for other tasks that they may face down the road.

The best age for kids to learn is between 8 and 12 years old.

Family crochet class will be held for four consecutive Saturdays – Oct 9, 16, 23, and 30, between 11 am-12 pm.  All materials will be provided.  Price for the four sessions for two people (adult and child) is $75, $20 for each additional child.  Enroll before Oct 1 and receive 10% off.
